ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Umberto Alfaro was born in Santiago , Chile in 1941. He studied at the prestigious Military School in Santiago . Later he studied at the State Technological University in Valdivia where he graduated as a Naval Architect. His passion for Art led him to develop his unique technique in Paper Pulp. Alfaro is one of the very few sculptors in paper pulp who has raised Papier Mache to the standard of Fine Art.
In 1986 he migrated to Australia . He worked at Precision Marine as a Project Engineer for the “Intansari” catamaran for Indonesia . After a very serious car accident with his brother, Alfaro turned 100% to the Arts. Since then he has been actively participating in the West Australian art field. At present, he is preparing for his “Pulpitations V” solo exhibition in October 2008.

Also, Umberto Alfaro has been participating in several Art Awards Exhibitions in W.A.

In the past 15 years he has taught Spanish Language privately at all levels.
